LEAD 2021

About:

NASW-MA’s annual Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) is an exciting event that gives social work students an opportunity to learn about advocacy on the state level. This event provides students tools and resources to build their social worker toolbelt and lobby their legislators on a bill that is important to social workers and the communities we serve!

At LEAD 2021, students will get the opportunity to:

  • Hear from two Keynote speakers
  • Learn tips for lobbying with their legislators
  • Learn about a piece of legislation on our agenda this session
  • And more!

Whether you’re planning on going into micro, mezzo, or macro social work, all “Social workers should be aware of the impact of the political arena on practice and should advocate for changes in policy and legislation to improve social conditions in order to meet basic human needs and promote social justice.” (NASW Code of Ethics, 06.04 Social and Political Action)

Questions? Contact Brianna Silva.

If you have any accessibility needs for LEAD, please contact chapter.naswma@socialworkers.org no later than Monday, February 22, 2021.
