Support MH Parity Enforcement
Ask Your Representative to Help Implement the New MH Parity Law
APA-backed legislation enacted in December gave the federal government new authority to enforce the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act law that requires insurers to provide the same access to mental health and substance use disorder (MH/SUD) treatment as other medical care for patients they cover. For anyone who has struggled to find psychiatric care, or has found it too expensive, this new law, strengthening mental health parity, is a game changer.
But the agency in charge of enforcement of the law needs the resources necessary to do the job right. Ask your Representative to join the effort to provide funding for the Employee Benefits Security Administration to properly implement this law.
