The "Take Aim to Help Nevadans" Sporting Clays Shoot will be held on Friday, 23 October 2015 at the Pro Gun Club in Boulder City. This is a fundraising event to help the Nevada Firearms Coalition and the Ross Fletcher Foundation.

Please see the attached flyers for more information, and distribute them far and wide. If at all possible, please consider donating prizes to be raffled off at the event, and encourage friends, neighbors, and gun-friendly businesses to do the same.

If you like sporting clays, please consider participating in the shoot, and encourage friends and neighbors to do the same.

If you've never tried sporting clays, this is a good opportunity to try your hand at it.

In any event, if you love your gun rights and want to see them protected in Nevada, consider participating in some manner to the extent possible, and encourage others to do so as well. The NVFAC needs the support, and the money, to fight for your gun rights.

BREAKING: GOVERNOR SANDOVAL SIGNS GUN BILLS

    Dear 2nd Amendment supporter,

    We did it!

Just minutes ago Governor Sandoval signed Senate Bills 175 and 240 into law. This is a huge victory for Nevada gun owners. These bills expand CCW reciprocity, provides protections against civil liabilities in self-defense in your home or vehicle and ELIMINATES the Clark County handgun registration program.

Please click here to join us in thanking Governor Sandoval for being a supporter of the 2nd Amendment and signing SB 175 and SB 240 into law. It’s been a hard fought session, and we still have bills to continue fighting for next session, but we have finally reached the point where our efforts have been rewarded with the signing of these bills into law.

We urge you to join us today in thanking Governor Sandoval.

    Thank you!

Tell Senator Brower to Schedule Campus Carry (AB487)

AB 487 was passed by the Assembly on May 29th and is awaiting a hearing in Senate Judiciary. Please click here to email Senator Brower and the Senate Judicary Committee and urge them to schedule campus carry.

This is our last chance to pass campus carry. Senator Greg Brower says 'there is no appetite to hear it'. Help us show him just how much appetite there is from Nevadans!

Please forward this alert to as many like-minded people as you know

Stand with Nevada gun stores - Support AB316

Assembly Bill 316 has been referred to Assembly Ways & Means and is in serious danger of dying. NVFAC has worked with Assemblywoman Jill Dickman on behalf of our Nevada gun stores who have been burdened to collect sales tax on out of state transfers. Taxes on any other item purchased out of state are the responsibility of the consumer to pay. This would be like asking Fed-Ex or UPS to collect taxes on out of state purchases.

Many Nevada gun stores have indicated that they may stop performing transfers if this law is not changed because of the huge liability it places on them. Please urge the committee to accept the fiscal note rather than ask our firearms stores to carry the burden.

AB487 Approved by Assembly Judiciary - Moving to Assembly Floor

AB 487 was passed by the Assembly Judiciary Committee and is moving to the Assembly Floor. Please click here to email your Assembly representative and strongly urge their support for AB 487.

While the incorporation of AB 148 into SB 175 failed, Campus Carry is still alive! AB 487 was introduced in the Assembly last week and has solid support among Assembly Republicans and a few Democrats.

    Campus Carry Still Alive!!!
AB487 Hearing Tomorrow in Assembly Judiciary

AB 487 is scheduled for an Assembly Judiciary Committee  hearing at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, 26 May 2015.  Click here to contact your Assemblyperson and politely urge passage of AB 487

While the incorporation of AB 148 into SB 175 failed, Campus Carry is still alive! Campus Carry legislation is contained in TWO bills: SB 350, and AB 487.

AB 487 was introduced in the Assembly last week and has solid support among Assembly Republicans and a few Democrats.

SB 350, sponsored by Senator Ben Kieckhefer, contains almost verbatim the Campus Carry language that failed in the 2013 and 2011 legislative sessions.  SB 350 also has an exemption, meaning that the only deadline for its passage is the adjournment of the 2015 legislative session.

Either bill, if passed and signed by the Governor, would get gun owners where they want to be with Campus Carry.  Either bill would be a major victory for Nevada gun owners, and a proper vindication for courageous women like Amanda Collins.

and urge them to take action as well.

Final Days Update and Call To Action

We have great news! Senate Bill 175 was approved today by the Nevada Assembly and will be going to Governor Sandoval for his signature! Senate Bill 175 is a great, comprehensive bill for Nevada gun owners and has reforms including:

    • Elimination of Blue Cards (Clark County handgun registration)
    • Establishment of statewide preemption for Nevada gun laws
    • Enacts the Castle Doctrine to provide protections for civil liabilities for self-defense in your home or vehicle
    • Expanded CCW reciprocity

The Nevada Firearms Coalition applauds the leadership of Senator Michael Roberson, Senator James Settelmeyer, Assemblyman Ira Hansen and Assemblyman Jim Wheeler for supporting these reforms. Senate Bill 175 has been our top priority, and this is a major victory for Nevada gun owners.

Another topic of great concern is Campus Carry. TODAY Assembly Bill 487 was introduced as an emergency measure to give us one more opportunity to pass Campus Carry. This bill is exempt from deadlines, so expect an alert from us next week when the hearing is scheduled.

    WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!

We have one bill today at risk. The legislation to create a 2nd Amendment license plate is stuck on the secretary's desk in the Assembly. We need you to contact Assembly leadership NOW and urge them to remove it from the desk and vote in support of the bill tonight. Click here to send your email!

It was a rough start, but we're glad to see our Nevada legislators fighting for our gun rights until the end!

URGE ASSEMBLY JUDICIARY TO SUPPORT SB175

We are getting down to the final minutes of the Nevada Legislature where our many good gun bills must be passed or they will die. The gun bills that are moving forward are those that have not gone through the judiciary committees in both houses.

Unfortunately, the two chairs of the Senate and Assembly Judiciary committees, for whatever reason,  have decided to hold the bills that have been passed through the opposite house. They may be holding these bills until the final hours on Friday when all the bills in their committees must be passed or they will die.

After polling our members, NVFAC has worked hard to correct the injustices faced by hundreds of thousands of gun owners who live in Clark County. SB 175 which has passed the senate is being held up by the chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, Ira Hansen.

Of all the bills introduced this year, SB 175 will bring numerous positive changes in gun laws by eliminating all the conflicting city, town and county gun laws and by eliminating mandatory gun registration, and by giving citizens who lawfully have to use deadly force in self-defense protection from expensive civil law suits. This bill was proposed and passed by the Senate. It was heard in the Assembly before it stalled in the Assembly Judiciary Committee will allow Clark County residents the same gun liberties as gun owners in the rest of Nevada.  Additionally, it will provide protections for all Nevadans by ensuring our gun laws are uniform statewide. This has been our best chance for passage since 1948!

PLEASE contact Assembly Judiciary Committee Chairman Ira Hansen and the members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee immediately and demand that they vote in favor of SB 175 as it was passed by the Senate and heard in the Assembly, and to do this immediately!  This may be the last time that we have the opportunity for all the state's gun owners to be given equal protection under the law.

Don’t waste a minute, go this this link.  Also Share this with you friends and urge them to do the same!

Our voices must be heard loud and clear in Carson City.  Pass a gun bill that will improve the rights of hundreds of thousands of Nevada citizens, and do it now!
