    Sept. 10, 2019 — Committee Vote: Hate Crime Firearm Prohibitions — Vote to Report

    Prohibit the sale of a firearm to any individual who has been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor hate crime, or has received an enhanced hate crime misdemeanor sentence. It also would prohibit the possession, shipment or transport of a firearm by any individual who has been convicted by any court of a misdemeanor hate crime, or has received from any court an enhanced hate crime misdemeanor sentence.

    As amended, it would specify that if any bill provision or its application to a person or circumstance is found invalid, the remaining bill provisions and its application would not be affected.

    Prohibit the sale of a firearm to any individual who has been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor hate crime, or has received an enhanced hate crime misdemeanor sentence. It also would prohibit the possession, shipment or transport of a firearm by any individual who has been convicted by any court of a misdemeanor hate crime, or has received from any court an enhanced hate crime misdemeanor sentence.
