The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle serves as the voice and champion of Jewish community priorities. Our guiding principles are:
- Speaking up for the voiceless
- Repairing the world
- Giving to those in need
- Pursuing justice
The Washington State Jewish Action Center is our local Jewish community's hub for opportunities to raise your voice on the timely issues that matter most to our community.
The Federation advocates for the community at both the state and other levels of government. Our work includes legislative lobbying, grassroots organizing, community education, and coalition building. We are guided and supported by the Public Advocacy Committee of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC).
Our advocacy is two-fold:
- We lobby on behalf of our Jewish community agencies to ensure they have the resources and support they need to serve our community.
- We advocate on issues of top concern for the Jewish community, as determined by our yearly public policy survey, either leading legislative efforts or supporting the work of our numerous coalition partners. These priorities include, but are not limited to: combating antisemitism, protecting human and civil rights, supporting immigrants and refugees, and speaking up for our most vulnerable.
