Support Reproductive Rights at the State and Federal Levels
Policymakers at the state and federal levels continue to pursue personhood, fetal heartbeat, and other onerous regulations to restrict women’s access to reproductive health services, including abortion bans passed in South Carolina and Arkansas. Urge your state and federal officials to oppose reproductive health restrictions and support women's health and reproductive rights.
Hadassah has and always will unequivocally stand for women’s reproductive rights and empowering women with the knowledge to make critical health decisions for themselves and their families. Reproductive health choices, based on full and accurate medical information and guidance, must be made in accordance with a woman’s own religious, moral and ethical values. Join us in speaking out today!
Urge your state and federal officials to oppose abortion bans – particularly those which contain no exceptions for rape, incest, fetal anomalies or situations in which the health of the woman is severely threatened by her pregnancy – as well as onerous and medically unnecessary requirements placed on patients, physicians, and service providers.
Urge your federal officials to support proactive reproductive rights legislation. The Women’s Health Protection Act, to be reintroduced in the coming weeks, would allow Congress to stop state-level abortion bans and other onerous and medically unnecessary requirements placed on patients, physicians, and service providers. Hadassah also supports eliminating the Hyde and Helms amendments, which that restrict access to reproductive health care due to federal funding restrictions. Hadassah opposes any attempts—through state administrative regulations, legislation, public referendum, or court action—to restrict the right to reproductive choice and/or use of family planning programs delivering any and all services. For decades Hadassah members and leaders mobilized for reproductive freedom – passing policy statements, advocating at the state and national level, and attending rallies around the country.
