UPDATE: Thank You for Helping Defeat Senate Bill 105!
Senate Bill 105 would have reversed the hard-won protections we put in place last year to safeguard teen drivers as they were learning to drive. Because of your efforts we were able to successfully defeat this bill and keep the needed protections for first time drivers. By retaining these protections, teens are given the supervised experience needed to develop critical driving skills.
Each year, hundreds of our teens are killed or seriously injured in motor vehicle crashes in South Dakota. With the defeat of Senate Bill 105, the state’s graduated driver’s licensing system will continue to help prevent South Dakota families from enduring crash tragedies that can result in serious injuries and loss of life.
We appreciate the support you provided by reaching out to legislators to voice your concern. You responded, your legislators listened, and we thank you!
