CDC Releases 2020 Data from the AR Lab Network
9/23/21 -- CDC’s Antibiotic Resistance and Patient Safety Portal (AR&PSP) has released new 2020 data and resources from the AR Lab Network. CDC’s AR Lab Network supports nationwide lab capacity to rapidly detect antibiotic resistance and inform local responses to prevent spread and protect people. The update includes:
- “Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRA): An urgent public health threat in United States healthcare facilities,” a new communication tool highlighting the impact of CRA on U.S. healthcare, its molecular characteristics, and the infection control and prevention strategies that are recommended to control its spread; and
- Profiles of antimicrobial susceptibility to carbapenem drugs -- These profiles are provided for Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales, Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii and can help guide public health decision-making for surveillance or testing of these pathogens.
