Speak Out for Libraries

Speak Out for Libraries!

Welcome to the Florida Library Association Advocacy Center!  You can play a key role in making sure your legislators and elected officials know why libraries are essential in today's world.  You will find the tools and resources you need to connect with your legislators and engage in advocacy for libraries on this site.

Fund Our Florida Public Libraries

Funding for Florida’s public libraries is at a critical low. The Senate and House budgets have State Aid to Libraries at only $17,304,072. That is less that what was received in 1992! This is a 30 year low for State Aid to Libraries! It is time to restore some of the lost funding! Let’s get it back to $23 million.

Contact your legislator during Valentine's Week and tell them why you love your library!  Tell them how libraries support the growing number of Floridians and the additional necessary services libraries provide.
