The Arc Maryland, Inc., in partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education is pleased to launch the “Together We’re Better: Celebrating Diversity” Inclusive Schools Contest for students in grades one through twelve. The theme for this school year is “Together We’re Better: Celebrate Diversity: Stop Bullying and Show Respect!” The purpose of the contest is to raise awareness of the value and importance of inclusion of students with disabilities and to promote awareness of disabilities and bullying prevention.

YOUR CLASS CAN WIN A FIELD TRIP TO ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND! The Arc Maryland is sponsoring this annual competitive event to raise awareness and to celebrate “National Inclusive Schools Week”, December 2-6, 2013! This competition is based on the modules of the “Together We're Better” curriculum. Each module ends with a group creative project. If your creative project is completed by students with and without disabilities, the project may be eligible for entry in the prestigious “Together We’re Better” statewide media competition.
