The Arc Action Alert: Parents of Children with Disabilities Should Have Paid Sick Leave
The Healthy Families Act (H.R. 932/S. 497) would allow workers in businesses with 15 or more employees to earn up to 7 job-protected paid sick days each year. Employees in businesses with fewer than 15 employees would earn 7 job-protected unpaid sick days. This leave could be used to provide care to a sick family member, attend school meetings related to a child’s health condition or disability, recover from their own illnesses, and more.
