S.B 2064 Introduced to Expand Fruit and Vegetable Program

This bill is a companion bill to H.R. 3402, which was introduced in the House by Rep. Bruce Poliquin (R-ME-2) on July 26 and has 13 cosponsors. Both bills amend the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act to include canned, dried, frozen and pureed fruits and vegetables in the fresh fruit and vegetable program. The House version was referred to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce; the Senate version was referred to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.
