|Yesterday, while AEA organized a Boat Parade for Teachers at the Capitol, the Arizona House of Representatives introduced the budget bills, House Bills (HB) 2537-2547. These bills will be heard in House and Senate committees today and are the only opportunity for you to provide public comment. Excluding Governor Ducey’s university bonding proposal (HB2547), all bills will be heard in Appropriation Committees. The university bonding proposal will be heard, separately, in the Education Committees, an indication that the governor does not have the Republican votes lined up for it to pass in Appropriations and that he will need Democrat votes if he wants university bonding in the final budget.
