Description

SB 571 will amend current law to require any “releasing agency, animal control officer, law enforcement officer, or humane investigator” to ask for and document any known bite history upon taking custody of any dog or cat. They also must disclose any known bite history upon release of the animal, which could include adoption, return to animal, or transfer of the animal to another agency. Failure to do so is a Class 3 misdemeanor.
