STEP ONE: Connect.
Subscribe to the FCLCA Action Network.
"Like" us on Facebook.
Follow us on Twitter.
Visit FCLCA's website, www.fclca.org, and our Action Center often to see what's new and stay informed.
STEP TWO: Learn about your legislators.
Just enter your zip code on this page to find them.
STEP THREE: Respond to FCLCA Action Alerts.
We make it easy for you to contact your legislators about important bills.
STEP FOUR: Engage around issues you care about.
When you sign up for the Action Network, let us know if you would like to be notified of events, rallies and lobby days here at the Capitol. (If you've already registered, just go to the page again and re-register, checking the appropriate box.) Or call us at (916) 443-3734.
STEP FIVE: Advocate in your own district.
Work with others to visit your legislator's local office. Here's a one-page guide to putting together a meeting. Our Action Network registration page has a box you can check to be notified when training for district visit or the visits themselves are being scheduled.
STEP SIX: Organize with others to promote or oppose a bill on a issue you care about. Maybe even propose a bill and find an author to carry it in the Legislature.
Our comprehensive guidebook "Bring Your Voice" will give you and any organizations or coalitions you are a part of the road map you need to lobby for or against legislation.
