Dear ZOO&U Advocates:
Denver Zoo is at a critical juncture and we need your help!
With the completion of Toyota Elephant Passage in 2012 – and other key projects funded through public and private support since 1999 – roughly half of our 80 acre campus has been updated. These important investments have allowed us to provide the best in animal care for our more than 4,000 animals, as well as an engaging experience for the more than two million guests who visit us annually. The remaining portion of Denver Zoo’s campus is untouched and in need of investment. You can help us move from vision to reality.
Recently, Denver Zoo embarked on a comprehensive review of our campus and facilities, the current and future needs of our animal collections, and how best we could tell stories that will be both meaningful and memorable in our mission to secure a better world for animals through human understanding. The outcome: The New Denver Zoo: Leading the Next Generation of Scientists & Conservationists through Incredible Experiences, a Master Plan defining the next two decades of our work through campus improvements. The full plan was approved by Denver Parks and Recreation and Denver City Council in the Spring of 2015.
Execution of our vision requires both public and private support. Denver Zoo has submitted our future vision to the City of Denver for inclusion in the 2017 General Obligation Bond (GO Bond). Public support of our efforts will play a key role in ensuring Denver Zoo continues its 120 year history of serving as an integral thread in the fabric of the lives of children and families in our city.
Join our effort, support our vision! Share with our city’s elected leaders your support for the New Denver Zoo. Click here to sign the petition!
