There is a bill that has been introduced in the State Legislature, known as Tobacco 21, which will raise the minimum sale age for all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, from 18 to 21 years old. Tobacco 21 will reduce the number of high school kids who can legally purchase these products for themselves and their younger friends and fellow students. While we have seen a decline in smoking rates in Wisconsin and nationwide, thousands of Wisconsin teens become new daily smokers every year. Nearly 95% of smokers start before they turn 21 and the recent youth vaping epidemic threatens to create an even larger generation of new smokers. This is alarming and unacceptable for our young people! Encourage your state lawmakers to support Tobacco 21 today!
