2017-11-16 | Andover Townsman

Nov. 16--Two local artists -- a mother and son duo -- will be featured in the Saltbox Gallery's Show and sale Nov. 17 to 19 at the Topsfield Fairgrounds' Coolidge Hall, located on Route 1 in Topsfield.

The Friday night wine-and-cheese artist's reception will run from 7 to 9 p.m. The show will be held Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Priscilla Lane Brown of Groveland founded the 29-year-old Saltbox Gallery. She is one of the eight award-winning artists bringing their 200 paintings to Topsfield this weekend. Seven guest artists add gold-starred leather boots and skeleton jackets, pottery with 3D art nouveau scenes, handbags with scarves, wood-and-metal constructions, and many jewelry styles.

Joe Frio of Andover, when not teaching photography in Boston, takes pictures of outdoor spaces with a tremendous sense of color, not unlike his mom, Debbie Frio, who creates colorful and popular quilts.

Admission and parking are free and handicap-accessible.
