May 11, 2017 — Committee Vote: Family Caregiver Strategy — Vote to ReportDirect the Department of Health and Human Services to create a "National Family Caregiver Strategy" to help promote family-centered care, training for caregivers and assess what kind of technical assistance is available to caregivers. The bill also would direct HHS to create an advisory council on family caregiving consisting of representatives from federal agencies and non-federal members. It would require the council to submit a report on federally-funded family caregiving efforts and the effectiveness of the programs and gaps in the services available.
