    • Substitute amendment to HR 2820 that would direct the Department of Health and Human Services to review the science of using adult stem cells and birthing tissues to develop new therapies and consider the inclusion of new therapies in the C.W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program. It also would revise requirements for HHS contracts under the Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Act of 2005, as well as direct HHS to determine whether to include peripheral blood stem cells and umbilical cord blood in the definition of human organ.
    • Substitute amendment to S 1719 that would direct HHS to update its caregiving strategy every two years, rather than annually. The amendment also adds language to include on the caregiving council representatives from the Small Business Administration and the Corporation for National and Community Service, as well as adjusts the bill’s sunset from 2030 to 2025.
