Tell Your Senator to Support WRDA!
The Senate has started debate on S. 2848, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), which authorizes Army Corps of Engineers civil works projects such as river and coastal navigation, flood control, beach erosion control and shoreline protection, hydroelectric power, recreation, water supply, environmental protection, restoration and enhancement, and fish and wildlife mitigation. The $9 billion measure, which includes $220 million in aid to alleviate the drinking water crisis in Flint, Michigan, and authorizes feasibility studies on 25 large Army Corps of Engineers water infrastructure projects. The bill is largely bipartisan, and will likely be the only infrastructure legislation that becomes law this year.
