The Alliance for Strong Families and Communities supports policies and programs that provide appropriate community-based, behavioral health and social services for individuals with mental illness (including depression) and families in mental health crisis.
Mental and behavioral health disorders affect children and families in all of our communities. Untreated, the symptoms of mental health problems can hinder a person’s ability to learn, work, and grow –preventing them from achieving their full potential. Targeted, data-driven prevention and wellness programs improve health, quality of life, and reduce per capita costs especially in underserved areas and with populations with high health disparities.
We’re tracking policies and mobilizing our network to help advance programs that support individuals with mental illness and families in mental health crisis.
