Initiatives that Succeed
State Society Network — The AACU State Society Network promotes the interests of urologists in state legislatures and agencies across the country. Through grassroots advocacy, physician representatives influence liability reform, physician taxation, medical billing practices, prescription authority, imaging restrictions and numerous other legislative and regulatory issues at the state level. State Society Network Representatives are invited to participate in an annual Advocacy Conference that focuses on training and public policy updates.
UROPAC — Established by AACU in 1992, UROPAC it is the only political action committee dedicated to urology. UROPAC identifies and contributes to candidates who share urologists’ interests and concerns.
AACU Sentinel — The official newsletter of the AACU. Published three times per year, the AACU Sentinel provides valuable information regarding the current political climate and socioeconomic issues facing urology.
AACU and the News — A weekly email featuring news items and columns from across the country that cover health policy and how these policies affect urology.
Action Alerts — Urgent calls for action transmitted via email to all members when legislation affecting the practice of urology is considered in state legislatures and Congress. These alerts give members the information needed to understand the issue and contact their elected representatives to make their voices heard.
